Super Mario Scores a Wondergoal Vs Leverkusen

Bayern Munich continued their seemingly unstoppable ascent to the Bundesliga title with a nail-biting 1-2 away victory at Bayer Leverkusen, an own goal by Phillip Wollscheid sealing the deal for the traveling Bavarians.

In the 37th minute Bayern’s forgotten man Mario Gomez received a thunderous cross-field pass on the half-way line which he controlled to perfection and the rest, as they say, is history.

Easily one of the contenders for Bundesliga goal of the season, this is the sort of goal that will give the big German the confidence boost he needs to force Mario Mandzukic out of Bayern’s starting XI, something he has had trouble doing ever since the consistent Croat entered the Allianz Arena.

Take a bow son.

So as expected the league leaders continue their good form away or at home and recovered from the Arsenal setback in midweek. I had honestly expected them to be tired from the game against Arsenal but surprisingly, and maybe on second thoughts, not so much of a surprise, as all good teams have shown that they are able to make it through tough schedules. Thanks to an away goal from the hosts, we are still 20 points ahead of second placed Borussia Dortmund and the league title seems ever much more closer.
